What is a Brake Light Switches?
A brake light switch comprises of a hollow housing having a first end and a second end. An electrical conductive plunger is disposed within the braking system and a switch is coupled to the second end with the switch having an input terminal facing the plunger and an output terminal adapted to be coupled between brake lights of a vehicle and their associated power source. A generally hollow vacuum valve having a first end coupled to first end of the braking system and a second end adapted to be coupled to a vacuum system of a vehicle. A diaphragm is disposed within the vacuum valve with the diaphragm actuated when a high vacuum condition is created at the second end of the system when a vehicle is accelerating and the diaphragm de-actuated. This is when a low vacuum condition is created at the second end of the housing when a vehicle is idling; and an extension mechanism is coupled between the diaphragm and the plunger for allowing the plunger to contact the input terminal of the switch when the diaphragm is de-actuated. Whereby enabling brake lights to be energized, and allowing the plunger to break contact with the input terminal of the switch when the diaphragm is actuated, whereby enabling brake lights to be de-energized.
Switching control system for automatically turning headlights off and on at intersections
The switching control system turns off the headlights of a vehicle when the vehicle's brakes are applied and the vehicle is slowing down and possibly stopping at an intersection and turns the headlights on when the brakes are released. An auxiliary headlight switch turns the headlights on and off by processing signals from the conductor which lights the brake lights and an electrical signal from the speed indication system of the vehicle. The headlights are turned off when the brakes are applied, sending power to the brake lights and vehicle speed is below a designated level, as indicated by a unit which receives the speed signal and generates a signal when the speed is below the designated level. An indicator light is lit when the subject control switching is in effect. In an original equipment embodiment the control switching is powered by the fourth position on a 4 position headlight switch. In a retrofit embodiment, a separate switch enables the subject control switching and disables the conventional headlight circuit while the subject equipment is in use.
Illuminated touch switch
An illuminated touch switch has a touch sensitive area and a plurality of light emitting diodes arranged in a predetermined pattern. The touch switch includes a first rigid circuit board with a first electrical conductor and a second flexible circuit board with a second electrical conductor separated by a spacer of a predetermined thickness. Both conductors are aligned with the touch sensitive area and are coupled from the applied pressure providing an output signal. Light emitting diodes illuminate a single color light to indicate an enabled condition of the touch sensitive area.
