What are Brake Hoses?
A brake hose includes two reinforcing layers in a rubber base. The brake hose comprises an inner tube rubber layer having a flow path for flowing fluid, a lower yarn layer formed by braiding first yarns around the inner tube rubber layer and an upper yarn layer formed by braiding second yarns around the lower yarn layer and a cover rubber layer covering the upper yarn layer. A lower yarn layer duty LD given by the equation, LD(%)=(LRP/PRP)×100, has a value of 50-65%, where LRP denotes an inner pressure at which a brake hose without the upper yarn layer and the cover would burst, and PRP denotes an inner pressure at which the brake hose would burst.
Twin tube air brake hose
A twin tube air brake hose for delivering compressed air to brakes on a vehicle such as a truck includes a first tube which serves as a service tube and a second tube which serves as an emergency tube. The first tube and second tube have an inner layer surrounded by a reinforcing layer which is in turn surrounded by an outer rubber layer. The outer rubber layers of each tube are joined by a web which is unitary with the outer layers. Adjacent opposite ends of the twin tube brake hose, the tubes are separated to form free end portions, each of which have a metal fitting. Reinforcing bands are fitted around the twin tube air brake hose just inboard the tail ends to prevent the web from splitting.

An improved air brake hose coupling member for a rail car including a pivotally mounted pawl. The pawl has a ramp for engaging another coupling member. The engagement causes the pawl to be raised to an unlocking position automatically during coupling of the members. The axis of rotation of the pawl is in a plane substantially parallel to an inner coupling face of the member and substantially parallel to the longitudinal axis of a tubular body of the member. The coupling member also has a biasing element that causes the pawl to drop down into a locking position after coupling of the members is complete, thereby enabling the pawl to prevent undesired rotational decoupling of the members. Hose assembly with integrally molded brake hose bracket
A hose assembly includes a brake hose and a hose bracket integrally molded around the brake hose. The hose bracket attaches the hose to a frame of a vehicle. The bracket may be made of at least one polyolefin material selected from the group consisting of polypropylene, thermoplastic olefin (TPO), thermoplastic polyolefin elastomer (TPE), polypelene, santoprene, or other similar low temperature materials suitable for automotive applications. The bracket may be molded using a low pressure molding operation. Other conventional components of the hose assembly, such as rub rings and clips, can also be integrally molded to the brake hose in conjunction with the hose bracket.
