Where is the air filter box located?

The air filter box is located in the front of the O/S corner of the engine bay and it makes your engine sound great. If the noise made by the engine is not so pleasant anymore that is because your air filter box might be faulty.

Maintenance and replacement

Just like your vacuum cleaner the filter box has a filter. The role of this filter is to trap all dust and dirt from clogging the engine. Every now and then it is good to replace this filter to reduce the risk of overheating because the air cannot circulate properly. To do this you first have to locate the air filter box (see previous paragraph) and then release the retaining clips and lift off the cover. It is good to know that you better not dispose of the original filter. You may find it useful when trying to sell the car.

Facts

You may find in time that the air filter box that the car was originally fitted with does not fulfil the whole potential. If this is the case you can modify it at any point to suit your demands. You can build a new one or just fit your car with another box.
