The
TVR Griffith, fiberglass bodied, 2 door, 2 seat convertible with a large V8 engine. Originally it had a 4 L 240 hp
Rover V8 engine but that could be optionally increased to 4.3 L 280 hp, with a further option of big valve cylinder heads. Later it was replaced entirely with a TVR developed 5 L 340 hp V8. All models use a five speed manual transmission, & are fantastic to drive. Although the Griffith is almost mechanically identical to it's sister car, the muscular
TVR Chimaera, it is much prettier.
The reality is that in dry conditions very few supercars can live with a well-diven Griffith. The combination of light weight, extreme power and well-balanced chassis make it virtually un-catchable. Some say the best thing about the car is it's engine note - TVR's own oversized exhausts provide a distinctive deep rumble at low revs, which hardens as the revs rise, culminating in a spine-tingling Nascar roar as you near the rev-limiter. The SEs have a hybrid interior using the Chimaera dashboard and
TVR Cerbera, seats. Noticeably, the rear lights are different along with different door mirrors, higher powered headlights and clear indicator lenses. Some also came with 16 inch wheels and each car comes with a numbered plaque in the glove box including the build number and a Special Edition Badge on its boot. All cars also have a unique signature in the boot under the carpet.
The
TVR 350, SE was a sports car designed and built by TVR.
All 350 SEs featured a 3.9 litre NCK hotwire Rover V8 alloy engine, polished multi-spoke alloy wheels and Koni adjustable shock absorbers. Each car is uniquely numbered with its number surrounded in laurels in gold for future recognition on the side wings and rear. The cars also had 350 SE decals on front spoiler, side sills and rear.
